Pitram Multiple Shift Roster functionality offers eyes across all areas

Market leading fleet management and mine control solution Pitram now includes advanced mine planning tools to help mine managers plan and analyse shifts, pinpoint production efficiencies in real-time and minimise unscheduled downtime.

The multi-shift roster tool is a new feature of MICROMINE’s fleet management and mine control solution, Pitram. It was first introduced at an underground copper mine in Europe in late 2018 and has since been released to the market.

The software takes mine digitalisation to the next level by working in real-time across multiple sites and shifts.

The Pitram solution segments planned work into small, interdependent tasks or activities, which are communicated to equipment operators along with expected duration and deliverables. Work progress is then tracked automatically, and supervisors are alerted when a task is at risk of delay, allowing immediate rescheduling or task reallocation.

Pitram Product Strategy Manager Chris Higgins said this bite-sized approach to shift rostering could deliver sizeable improvements for multi-faceted and multi-site operations.

“Mining is a 24-hour operation where shift handovers overlap there is a need for flexibility in your mine control solution” Mr Higgins explained. “Traditional planning tools focus on a single shift roster, site or equipment only, limiting their functionality and proving inflexible for users.

“Pitram’s multi-shift rostering option provides a full multi-site, multi-task and multi-shift solution.

“It monitors production or development cycles across sites and locations and considers interdependencies, so equipment units are not held up due to delays on other equipment,” he added.

“Dependencies between each task are shown graphically allowing the effect of any delay to be easily spotted and the overall impact on the shift production to be known.

“This is extremely important for all mining operations but especially those that are constrained by limited access to stopes or development faces.

MICROMINE spent more than a year working with clients to develop the new multi-shift roster function, which is part of the latest Pitram version.

“Our focus has been on improving stability and performance to enable mining managers to make more informed decisions.

“As companies move away from conventional mine planning methods towards minesite digitalisation, MICROMINE is ensuring our software is easy to use and yet offers powerful capabilities.”

Pitram is a global market-leading fleet management and mine control solution that assists mining operations to record, manage and process mine site data in near real-time.

It provides mine managers with an overall view of the current mine status by acquiring key mining data relating to equipment, personnel and materials and is suitable for underground and surface mine construction, development and production.

Pitram is available in numerous languages and supported by local experts.
